Read the US Department of Justice indictment here:
The Poker software at all 4 of these online rooms is still online and running normally outside of the United States. Also some US players can log into their accounts to withdraw their funds. Still, ramifications are already showing. Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker traffic is down 1/3 and Absolute/UB traffic has been cut in half.
In the weeks following these developments calls for an end to the federal crackdown on online poker have been getting louder. The Poker Players Alliance, a Washington DC-based lobbying group, raised more money in the 72 hours following the indictment than they have in their history. Also, several of the big casinos in Las Vegas, who were once some of online poker's most powerful enemies, have started to change their tune and are now calling for federal regulation of the game.
